Vindstöten (The gust of wind) was one of the works found in Corot’s studio after his death and sold at a large auction. It was bought by Swedish landscape painter Carl Fredrik Hill, a great admirer of Corot. In the final decades of his life Corot painted more expressively. The incomplete and sketch-like character has, however, made many connoisseurs question whether Corot himself actually painted it.
