Lettering

To the Mem.ory what dearer remanth of yt. vertous Lady la Margaret Legh daughter of him yt sometime was St. Gilbert Gerard Knigt. ... Engraved by JB from the monument in Fulham church. Lettering continues: "and Mast. of the Rs. in the high Cot. of Chancy. Wife of Sr. Peter Legh of Lime in the count. of Chester Kt. and by him the mother of 7 sons, Pierce, Radd, Thos. Traunces, Peter, Gilbert, John, with 2 daughters Ann and Kathe. of which Radcliffe, Gilbert, John deceaced infants the rest yet surviving to yet happy increase of the house, ye years she enjoyed ye world were 33 yt her husband enjoyed her 17 at which period she yielded her soul to the blessednes of long rest, and her body to this earth July 23 1603. This inscription in n the note of piety and love her sad husband is here devotedly placed."
